"IMAGINE A MOON COLONY" (HULU)  (2020)

In the retro milieu of 1970s Los Angeles, a family's speculative Black gaze transcends temporal bounds, projecting their collective vision onto the canvas of the year 2020. Within this short imaginative odyssey, Jamal Ademola performs as "Rory Wade," a sanguine hematologist navigating the labyrinth of possibilities in the pursuit of a cure for sickle cell anemia. Wade, a beacon of optimism, is a devoted husband to "Delores", played by Djaka Souare, and father to three precociously creative children.  Amidst their idiosyncratic upper-middle-class existence, the Wade's 17 year old son Henry, diligently chronicles the eccentricities of their playful lives using the discerning eye of 16mm observational footage and his love for the sci-fi illustrations of Davis Meltzer.

The film aired as a part of for Hulu’s Black History Month special “Your Attention Please”. Episode two . Premiere date : Feb 9th, 2020.

"Your Attention Please" is hosted by Craig Robinson as he takes us on a incredible journey into the lives, ideas, and dreams of a diverse group of Black innovators and creators who are leaving their mark on the world.
